SGNL’s founders, Scott Kriz and Erik Gustavson, spent over a decade innovating in identity solutions. After Google acquired their previous company, Bitium, in 2017, they shifted focus from authentication to securing sensitive customer data, code, and cloud infrastructure using business context. Their modern approach to privileged identity management fills critical gaps in protecting enterprise assets, offering solutions to CISOs that were previously unavailable.
Scott is a product leader and innovator in identity with over a decade of identity experience as both an entrepreneur and as a practitioner in a larger organization. Prior to SGNL, Scott was the CEO/CPO and Co-Founder of Bitium, an Identity and Access Management company. Scott joined Google through their acquisition of Bitium. As a Product Lead at Google, he founded a team internally to standardize authorization to customer and consumer data.
Erik is an innovative, product-oriented technologist with more than a decade of experience in the identity industry. Before SGNL, Erik was the CTO and Co-Founder of Bitium, an Identity and Access Management company. After joining Google via the acquisition of Bitium, Erik was the engineering lead for multiple teams in Google Workspace, including the Security and Cloud Directory teams. Erik is also co-chair of the OpenID FastFed working group and a member of the SCIM working group.
Atul is the inventor of CAEP and an Okta Identity 25 listee. He joined SGNL after leading Google’s efforts in extending access security across multi-vendor SaaS and on-prem systems. Previously, as CEO and co-founder of Trustgenix (acquired by HP), he defined the federation server concept, now standard among Identity Providers, and continued as HP’s Director of Federation. He also helped define standards like Liberty Alliance and SAML 2.0 and co-chairs OpenID’s Shared Signals Working Group.
As VP of Marketing, Kelsie drives SGNL's strategy and market execution, positioning our technology to meet critical identity security needs. Under her leadership, SGNL has sharpened its market focus and go-to-market initiatives with innovative solutions. Prior to joining SGNL, Kelsie has held marketing leadership positions for more than 10 years, driving high-growth for SaaS and security companies, including SailPoint.
Marc is a product leader in identity with 15+ years in the field. Before SGNL, he led Google Cloud Identity Platform, managing and securing billions of user identities. Prior to Google, Marc led Okta’s efforts to connect legacy systems with Cloud providers, pioneering Certificate and Kerberos Authentication for Okta’s Cloud. At Microsoft, he worked on counter-abuse tech and partnered with governments and Fortune 500s to push Microsoft’s authentication and threat detection capabilities.
Scott is a dynamic sales executive with over 15 years experience building and leading teams to deliver consistent revenue growth. Scott has worked for both venture-backed, and public technology companies in SaaS, Identity Security, Cloud Security, and APM. He is a high energy and approachable leader whose teams specialize in taking consultative and value-oriented approach to help customers address challenges. Scott resides in Denver, with his amazing wife and two daughters, and crazy dog.
Conrad is a security leader with over a decade of experience building security programs, leading security teams, and overseeing compliance audits and certification processes in small and scaled organizations. Before SGNL, Conrad was CISO for Open Raven, a data security posture management company. Prior to that, he ran Risk & Compliance, Product Security as the CISO at Tenable, seeing the organization through to a successful IPO. Prior to Tenable, Conrad was CISO at Bitium and a national mortgage lender.
Prathima is a seasoned product builder with over a decade in enterprise AuthN/AuthZ and consumer technologies. At Google, she led teams on MDM and next-gen API authorization for Apigee Edge. Previously, she developed platform authentication and encryption tech at Salesforce, where she also founded the transaction security team to detect anomalous access. Prathima holds a PhD in Computer Science from Purdue, with a dissertation on XACML policy analysis and management.
Phil is a customer experience leader with over 2 decades of industry experience spanning all corners of the globe. Since 2001 at Sun Microsystems, Phil has been solving enterprise Identity and Access Management problems for some of the world’s largest companies. More recently, Phil has led customer focused services organizations at Okta, BetterCloud, and Docker.
Laurie is a dynamic leader with 20+ years in business and people operations, employee experience, and organizational development. Before SGNL, she led operations at multiple tech start-ups from launch to acquisition and helped establish a nationwide program for emancipated foster youth. Laurie thrives on challenges and is passionate about creating impactful experiences that benefit both organizations and their people.
