I’m thrilled to announce today that SGNL has secured a strategic investment from M12, Microsoft’s Venture Fund. This is the latest in a series of major milestones for SGNL, but is especially exciting for a few reasons:
Validation of our Mission
When we founded SGNL, we set out to change the way organizations think about identity. We realized that legacy identity products weren’t up to the challenges presented by the complex enterprise systems that are being used by organizations today. With increased frequency of session hijacking and credential theft, organizations need to embrace Zero Standing Privilege (ZSP) which means that no one has persistent access to customer data or critical infrastructure. Instead, all user access is continuously and dynamically authorized based on context.
This investment by M12 is a significant validation of our vision, our technology, and our team.
A Momentum-Building Milestone
2023 was an inflective year for security startups. For SGNL, this has been clear from the meaningful milestones that we achieved this year, notably:
- Technical partnerships with Sailpoint, Okta, Salesforce, ServiceNow and others,
- Participation in the Microsoft Security Copilot Partner Private Preview,
- Strategic investments from some of the best teams in global technology including Cisco Investments, and of course M12.

We’ve been incredibly impressed by the team at both M12 and Microsoft in recent months. It’s important to me to work with people who are excellent at what they do, passionate about creating and supporting the absolute best technologies, and are aligned with SGNL’s values. But it’s also important for me to work with teams that care about making a lasting positive impact. The M12 team has been not just fantastic to work with but inspiring as well. The teams at M12 and Cisco, another of our strategic investors, are exactly the type of partners we want to be surrounded by as SGNL scales.
2024 and Beyond
Expect to see exciting new product functionality as well as scaled operations across SGNL as we expand to serve the growing number of enterprise customers.
