SGNL is thrilled to announce that our CTO, Atul Tulshibagwale has been named in the Okta Identity 25 list.

Okta Ventures has released their inaugural list of “The Identity 25” to recognize the “top movers and shakers in the identity world”, which they intend to publish annually from now on. In their Identity 25 Report, they write that “The Okta Identity 25 was created specifically to honor the incredible contributions of these Identity innovators.”

Atul has been a pioneer in the world of enterprise identity. While his Google blog post has formed the basis of CAEP, which has now seen adoption across the industry with announcements from Apple and Okta, his contributions to SAML 2.0 and the very idea of a federation server are also notable. He was also an early engineer at VeriSign, where the basis of all trust and security on the internet that we use today, was first commercialized.

Check out this video produced by Okta to get a quick overview of Atul’s work and background in identity:

“It’s an honor to be included in this list that has so many amazing people from the identity world” said Atul Tulshibagwale, “my special thanks to the Okta Ventures team for doing extensive research, finding my work, and reaching out to me after I was included!”

Atul believes his work in identity is far from done (and we at SGNL agree). The entire frontier of authorization and access management needs urgent attention to address some of the most critical security risks the industry faces today. This motivated him to join SGNL from the very beginning, where he is bringing his thought leadership to help advance the industry by adopting new approaches that enable enterprise-scale access management.

Congratulations, Atul!
